Unfortunately for Jaime and her ex-fiancé Eric Calvo , aka DJ Eric Cubiche, the life they imagined for themselves did not pan out, as the pair announced their split after calling off their engagement before Christmas. It doesn’t matter if you’re dating, engaged, married – I think every couple is simply trying to make it last. I think marriage is a wonderful thing, and if I ever met a guy whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life with (and who wanted to spend the rest of his life with me), I’d certainly much prefer to get married than just live together without being married. Not only do popular kids know lots of people, and therefore have lots of connections that may come in handy in the workplace, they also are mastering a valuable skill early on. For a boy, being popular may mean having lots of people like you, but for a girl it often means having lots of people simply know who you are . It’s so amazing to observe some of the kids who are TRULY popular and to see who those kids are! Some of the most popular kids are actually not the kids who come from the most affluent families but simply have a certain something that just can’t be explained, taught, or learned. read more
In 1956, Coach Jerry Sacharski couldn’t turn away the little guys who showed up wanting to be part of his summer baseball program, so he started the first PeeWee T-ball league to teach the six -to-eight-year-old set the fundamentals of baseball and a thing or two about good, clean fun. Sacharski passed away on February 27th, and this week the the Wall Street Journal pondered whether parents, concerned with our shaky economic climate, might be foregoing expensive family vacations this summer to rediscover less costly family-bonding activities like T-ball and a game of catch in the backyard. Prior to the experiment, Candice’s teenage sons couldn’t remember the last time they ate a sit-down, home-cooked family dinner; now they eagerly look forward to it. She took the camera crew back to the modest home she once shared with her late husband and recalled a day when the family spent an afternoon playing together in piles of leaves. For many families, life has become way too materialistic and yet too unstable (with the average family holding 4 digits in credit card debt – unreal! read more

This feels a bit like lazy parenting to me – rather than trying to teach or discipline their child, they’re trying to appease them and reward them before they’ve even done the job. I know some may think that they’re a bit frivolous but I know they help my kids brush the appropriate amount of time since they never brushed for long enough in the past. I just got my daughter a VeggieTales singing toothbrush because I was running out of ways to teach her to keep brushing for at least 2 minutes (getting her to brush wasn’t the problem, she just wasn’t brushing long enough) She’s brushed her teeth 4 times today. Can’t our kids be left un-entertained for the 2 minutes it takes them to brush their teeth? Celebrity parents tell us which baby products they can’t live without!
